Pimec and The New Barcelona Post are launching the series Eixample Talks: the meeting of the public and private worlds, a monthly space for debate and reflection on the major challenges facing the country, with a focus on collaboration between public institutions and the private sector.
The sessions will take place at Pimec's headquarters (Viladomat, 174), on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., specifically on October 1, November 5, and December 3.
In each of these sessions, the series will address key issues for Catalonia, such as housing, financing, and energy. All with a fundamental objective: to foster dialogue, shared knowledge, and strategic alliances, in areas vital for the economic and social development of Catalonia.
Each session will feature a round table with prominent speakers from the public and private sectors, moderated by journalist Elena Busquets, new director of The New Barcelona Post. The institutional welcome will be given by the president of Pimec, Antoni Cañete. After the debate, attendees will be able to enjoy a cocktail-networking event, with the aim of strengthening the bond between professionals from both fields.
Housing, financing, and energy
The session on October 1, which will kick off the series, will focus on an area considered by many citizens to be Catalonia's main problem: access to housing. In this first meeting of the new Eixample Talks, voices from the public and private sectors will debate and share formulas and proposals to advance jointly on this issue.
November will be the turn of financing, which will be the focus of a second session of the series that will analyze access to financing from both a public and private perspective. Then, in December, the focus will be on energy, a key area in a context where its demand continues to increase.
In all sessions, the series is presented in a transmedia format, with in-person attendance and subsequent availability in video-podcast format, thus facilitating its dissemination and impact beyond the physical meeting.
This initiative is carried out thanks to a strategic alliance between Pimec and The New Barcelona Post, who jointly assume the production and dissemination of the events. The meetings have the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Bankinter, the Port of Barcelona, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), Mustmedia, and LLYC.
