The profound transformation of the real estate sector and new urban mobility models have been essential for the selection of the themes to be addressed in the seven debate areas being defined for the next edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), the international event organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB).
Advancing in its program for the conferences that will be held in the DFactory Barcelona building, between October 3 and 6, the general director of CZFB and BNEW, Blanca Sorigué, has announced that they will delve into the analysis of the latest innovations in each sector, as well as the main challenges and opportunities in this post-pandemic era.
This year, Digital Industry, Real Estate, Mobility, Talent, Sustainability, Invest and Experience are the seven key themes of BNEW, adapting to the most current trends and exploring multiple aspects related to new socioeconomic opportunities, according to the organizers. "It is a commitment to a disruptive event that will reinforce Barcelona's position as the capital of the 4.0 economy," recalled the special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro.
The event, which will have a hybrid nature (in-person and streaming), is expected to bring together 600 speakers who will offer up to 180 hours of content distributed in 130 panels, sessions, and debates. It will also feature 400 participating companies and an estimated more than 12,000 attendees.
Among the most notable novelties is the incorporation of a new panel called BNEW Invest, within the theme of industrial digitalization, which aims to address new investment trends for both large companies and SMEs worldwide. Market studies of areas such as Africa, LATAM, or Europe will be discussed in the different conferences; similarly, the current situation in Ukraine and investment possibilities in renewable energies and cryptocurrencies will be reviewed.
The Consortium has chosen the DFactory building to host the conferences due to its importance as an industrial accelerator, but at the same time wants it to gain visibility so that the previously named BNEW City, a range of activities to showcase Barcelona, transforms this year into BNEW Experience. That is, DFactory will also be a cultural meeting point for BNEW attendees with sculpture, painting or fashion exhibitions, or to attend culinary experiences (with wine tasting, chocolate or a showcooking) and, even, technological and immersive ones.
