La Villarroel hosts the premiere of Morning Sun, a text by British playwright Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), translated by Adriana Nadal and directed by Pau Roca.
The play offers an intimate, delicate, and emotional portrait of a woman's life in a constantly transforming New York. The plot delves into the passage of time, memory, and the experience of becoming invisible to society as years pass. And it all happens in a metropolitan city where old bars change owners and lovers and friends come and go.
The production stars a cast made up of Míriam Iscla, Anna Güell, and Raquel Ferri, and presents the trajectory of three generations of women—grandmother, mother, and daughter—who discuss topics such as the complexity of blood ties, shared joys, and silenced sorrows. The show is a journey about beginnings and endings, the persistence of love, and the search for identity amidst the noise of the big city.
