Industrialized construction is presented as one of the future options for the sector, and this also translates into operations between large companies. Molins and the Greek cement company Titan have joined forces to acquire 80% of the Bosnian company Baupartner, in an operation that aims to boost new growth opportunities in a European region that the Catalan multinational sees in full development.
With the operation, the financial terms of which have not been disclosed, Molins strengthens its position in precast concrete solutions and expands its presence in the field of industrialized construction, which allows most of the work to be carried out in the factory, and then assemble the pieces in their final location.
With 15 years of experience, Baupartner specializes in the design, manufacture, and assembly of this type of custom-made precast structural solutions. The company, which employs more than 280 people, operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia, where it has delivered more than a hundred projects for a wide portfolio of local and international clients.
After the operation, which will close before the end of the third quarter, 20% of Baupartner will remain in the hands of the founding partners, led by Eldin Hadžibegović, who will continue to play an active role in the management of the company in this new stage. According to him, the incorporation of Molins and Titan "brings new strength, experience, and stability to Baupartner."
Both companies have joined forces to form this joint venture to combine Molins' experience in prefabrication and Titan's presence in Southeast Europe with Baupartner's engineering capabilities for highly complex industrial, logistics, and commercial projects.
Thus, the agreement "represents an important step within Molins' growth strategy in the precast concrete solutions business," highlighted the company's CEO, Marcos Cela. For its part, Titan enters the prefabrication business for the first time. In this context, according to the president of the group's Executive Committee, Marcel Cobuz, this operation allows "to diversify the portfolio and boost the introduction of new efficient construction technologies."
