New addition to Miura Partners' portfolio. The Barcelona-based private equity firm has become the majority shareholder of HealthTech BioActives (HTBA), a leader in the natural ingredients segment for the pharmaceutical and nutrition sector, which will enter a new stage of growth after this operation.

To close it, Miura has reached an agreement with New York-based Riverside, which will exit the shareholding of the Catalan company after five years marked by its international expansion and the modernization of its facilities in Spain and the United States.

HTBA, with a turnover of 80 million euros and a team of more than 200 people, exports its products to more than 60 countries worldwide. It does so from its headquarters in Barcelona; with a research, development and production center in the Murcian town of Beniel, and from its US subsidiary, located in Cincinnati.

Miura Partners, founded by Luis Seguí and specialized in investing in SMEs with a focus on innovation and growth, frames this operation within its strategy of betting on "leading companies in their activity, with a solid business model, great growth expectations and a top-level management team," according to the fund's managing partner, Jordi Alegre.

The operation "represents an advance and the consolidation of HTBA's growth strategy based on innovation and sustainability," according to the company's general director, Alexandre Valls. "We remain focused on offering solutions that improve the health and well-being of people and animals," from the company's four business areas, linked to functional health, pharmaceutical active ingredients, flavor modulation, and animal nutrition. In this field, the company is "a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of flavonoid compounds and active forms of vitamin B12."

Coinciding with Riverside's entry, the company has doubled its turnover and workforce since 2019, going from 48 million to 80 and incorporating a hundred workers. With Miura Partners' commitment to the company, HTBA opens a new stage of growth in which it will reinforce its innovative role at the forefront of the sector.
