Laura Iglesias

Connecting companies, research and the different players that make up Catalonia’s health sector is one of the priorities for Laura Iglesias as she takes over as director general of Catalonia.health. The association, which represents 230 members, is entering a new phase focused on growth and creating new opportunities for its members. Iglesias knows the organisation from the inside: she has been part of the team since March 2024 and previously served as interim director general between November 2024 and April 2025. “My priority will be to strengthen the value we offer our members, expand the association’s national and international reach and, above all, create opportunities that drive connections, innovation and growth across the ecosystem,” she says.

With a PhD in Molecular Biosciences from the University of Geneva and a degree in Genetics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Iglesias has built her career at the intersection of research and business development in healthcare. She has worked in translational research, diagnostics and stem cell biology, as well as managing European projects and developing partnerships across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and digital health sectors. She now takes on the leadership of Catalonia.health, bringing with her an in-depth knowledge of both the organisation and the wider healthcare ecosystem built up over the past few years.
