Barcelona has experienced decisive moments throughout its history that have turned the city into a global icon of reference in fields such as quality of life, innovation, design, creativity, culture, cosmopolitanism, and entrepreneurship. To relive the relevant events of the 20th and 21st centuries that have made us proud to be from Barcelona, The New Barcelona Post debuts in the podcast world with Moments Estel·lars de la Barcelona Contemporània, a series of monthly interviews with prominent protagonists and witnesses with whom we will converse about the keys to these moments of glory, and not only focusing on the past, but bringing to the present those learnings and success factors to guarantee an even better future.

Inspired by Stefan Zweig's famous book Stellar Moments of Humanity, the podcast will emphasize the values associated with the Barcelona brand and successful episodes or stages in the city's recent history. The celebration of the Barcelona'92 Olympic Games, of which we will celebrate the 30th anniversary this year; the literary boom driven by agent Carmen Balcells; the Barcelona of design and artistic creation; Barça's first Champions League; Barcelona's leadership in the high gastronomy sector thanks to stars like Ferran Adrià; international lyrical references like Montserrat Caballé and Josep Carreras; the explosion of freedom in the 70s associated with counterculture and the underground; or, more recently, the consolidation of the powerful entrepreneurial ecosystem and the emergence of the city's first technological unicorns are some examples of topics that will be protagonists of the cycle of dialogues that we begin next May 16.

The New Barcelona Post will produce the Moments Estel·lars podcast in collaboration with Must Media Group and CASA SEAT of Barcelona, which will be the setting for its recording. We want to make our readers part of this experience and each month we will invite you to attend as an audience to the recording of the podcast, which will be presented by journalist Toni Aira (Barcelona, 1977), doctor in communication from Universitat Ramon Llull, director of the Master in Political and Institutional Communication at UPF Barcelona School of Management and regular columnist and panelist in various media.

The protagonist of the first podcast, corresponding to this month of May, will be Juan Antonio Samaranch Salisachs (Barcelona, 1959), with whom we will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games and analyze the future opportunity and the new impulse that the celebration of the Barcelona-Pyrenees 2030 Winter Olympic Games can bring to the city. A member of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Samaranch was vice-president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) until 2020, is president of the Coordination Commission for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and also coordinated those of Turin 2006.

To attend as an audience on May 16, at 6:30 p.m., to the first Moments Estel·lars with Juan Antonio Samaranch, it is necessary to register on the CASA SEAT reservation platform, completely free of charge. To get your ticket, click here.
