Forty years after its founding, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès (OSV) is heading into a season of celebration, but also renewal, with 30 concerts combining opera, film, major symphonic works and three world premieres. The ensemble's 2026–2027 season opens on 19 September with Beethoven's Emperor Concerto and runs through to May. A central part of the orchestra's programme will take place at the Palau de la Música, as part of the Simfònics series, co-produced by the OSV with the Fundació Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música Catalana. In total, there will be 23 programmes combining opera, zarzuela, choral music, film scores and new works. Among the season's more distinctive offerings is Psycho in Concert, screening Alfred Hitchcock's classic film with Bernard Herrmann's score performed live, alongside three world premieres, including a new piano concerto by Marco Mezquida.

The orchestra's fortieth anniversary also coincides with a renewal of the OSV's artistic structure. With Andrés Salado as principal conductor since last season, this year's programme also brings in Noemí Pasquina as resident conductor and Isabel Rubio as associate conductor. Jordi Cos, meanwhile, remains president of the OSV while continuing to play viola in the ensemble, a dual role that lets him engage with the project both from behind the scenes and from the stage.
