Jordi Cabré publishes "Hi ha algú altre": we advance the first chapter

The writer, contributor to 'The New Barcelona Post' and winner of the 59th Sant Jordi prize, recounts an initiatory journey into adulthood

february 02, 2023 - 00:56

With Hi ha algú altre, Jordi Cabré delves into autofiction with an intimate and personal novel, a poetic and intriguing introspection at the same time. The protagonist of the novel, a writer entering his late forties, moves into a new home on Sant Antoni Maria Claret street in Barcelona. He has just separated from his wife after nineteen years of living together and with two children (a pre-teen and a teenager) in common.

With careful and polished prose, Jordi Cabré talks to us about family relationships, the grieving process, the fear of loneliness, adult relationships, and, above all, love: a transversal and universal love, towards family, towards friendships, and towards oneself.

In The New Barcelona Post, we present below the first chapter (in Catalan) of this novel, published by Univers and arriving in bookstores this very Thursday:
