The production company Incís Films, one of the companies of Grup Must Media, of which The New Barcelona Post is a part, will be one of the protagonists of TV3's summer programming. Next Thursday, July 7, it will premiere two programs in the night slot, after Polònia: the talent show A2Veus and the new documentary series Ments inquietes.
In this second season, the musical program that seeks the best non-professional artists in the country will have Nina as its presenter and master of ceremonies. Almost 300 people showed up for the preliminary castings, all fighting for the same dream: to sing in two voices with their musical references, who in this second season will be Ginestà, Buhos, Suu, Ramon Mirabet and Manu Guix and Diana Roig, from the musical El petit príncep.
From this initial casting, four aspirants have been selected for each episode and group or artist. In total, twenty contestants who, as a great novelty of the second season, will have to live together for a few days in a farmhouse. There they will get to know each other, train with Nina and other professionals in the sector, and prepare the song they will have to defend and sing with their idols if they are finally chosen.
Then, also on Thursday 7, TV3 will premiere Ments inquietes, a documentary series about creativity and intergenerational talent conceived during the pandemic. Directed by Anna Pérez Martí, it is a production by Incís Films with the support of the Department of the Presidency and the Department of Business and Work of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Chefs Carme Ruscalleda and Ivan Surinder; musicians Santi Balmes and Maria Arnal; and writers Sílvia Soler and Sebastià Portell are some of the protagonists of the series. Each chapter is dedicated to a different discipline: gastronomy, music, sustainability, literature, science and architecture, and features two protagonists from different generations.
What is creativity? Does inspiration exist? How is the creative process of a consolidated artist? And that of a young talent who arrives with a bang? These are questions that Ments Inquietes answers in the six 45-minute chapters that have been recorded and where the personal stories of twelve protagonists are delved into, who talk about their vocations, passions and life goals.
In each thematic episode, the vision of an experienced figure, with a long career and wide recognition, is combined and confronted with that of a young person at the beginning of their career, but who has set out to shake up the sector. Specifically, the protagonists of Ments inquietes are chefs Carme Ruscalleda and Ivan Surinder (gastronomy); singers Santi Balmes and Maria Arnal (music); entrepreneurs Carlota Pi and Marc Coloma (sustainability); writers Silvia Soler and Sebastià Portell (literature); scientists Anna Veiga and Carlos Conejo (science), and architects Carme Pigem and Benji Iborra (architecture).
The program Ments inquietes delves into their studios, offices, and creative sanctuaries, on top of the stage, in presentations and behind the stoves; we hear them talk about their references, their wounds, and the truly decisive moments of their lives, those that explain who they are. In short, a privileged glimpse into the inner world of twelve great creators. In addition, Ments inquietes also aims to establish a dialogue between two generations of Catalan creators who have grown up in very different contexts, highlighting their similarities and differences in understanding life and developing their creative processes.
How is a new dish created, what excites and inspires a chef, what is brewing inside their head? Carme Ruscalleda and Ivan Surinder will answer these and other questions in the first chapter, in which they demonstrate that a chef's creative process is unique, personal, and non-transferable, linked to the roots and history of each one. Ruscalleda, the only woman in the world to have accumulated 7 Michelin stars, talks about her very difficult professional beginnings in a world that attributed no other aspiration to her than to get married. Surinder reveals the tragic incident that catapulted him to the stoves, from where he now prepares Catalanized Indian recipes. Two very different ways of understanding gastronomy, two generations of restaurateurs with 40 years of difference between them with the same goal: to make everyone who sits at their table happy.
