Idilia Foods, the family company that owns Cola Cao and Nocilla, closed the 2022 fiscal year with a turnover of 186 million euros, a figure that represents a 4% growth compared to the previous year. The company now has 330 employees and has just invested close to two million euros in doubling the photovoltaic installation of its production complex in Parets del Vallès (Barcelona).

According to Idilia Foods, the objective is to achieve zero CO₂ emissions in its manufacturing processes this 2023 and thus advance in the objectives of the social and environmental sustainability program Idilia Personas y Planeta. The new solar park in Parets will add with this expansion an area of 25,000 square meters and will allow the company to self-generate more than 30% of the energy consumed by the industrial complex, which translates into the production of more than 3,300 MwH.

"One out of every three jars of Nocilla or Cola Cao can be produced with this system, in which not only energy will be self-generated, but it will be green energy," highlights the Ferrero family company, which is already 100% supplied with energy from non-polluting sources both in the plant and in its corporate offices in Barcelona.

The Idilia Personas y Planeta program, in addition to the sustainability and energy transition plan, aims to positively impact society and is also materialized through the Cola Cao Foundation, focused on the fight against school bullying through different educational, informative and research projects.
