Mobility is changing, it is an undeniable fact that Antonio Morales, Danae Vara and Ángel Casarrubios, creators of the firm Gocleer, are very clear about. This Barcelona startup born in February 2020 has developed a platform for the digital distribution of car and micro-mobility insurance and has just closed its first financing round for more than 930,000 euros.
The startup expects to position itself in the market as an alternative to traditional car insurance, offering a 100% online contracting platform for car and personal mobility insurance. This service is complemented by a cashback program, which consists of drivers who use their vehicle little or combine it with other means of transport being able to obtain up to a 30% refund of the annual value of their insurance.
The firm has been created with the impulse of Antai Venture Builder, an incubator of emerging companies co-founded by Miguel Vicente and Gerard Olivé, which invests in revolutionary projects in their respective sectors. In this financing round led by Antai Venture Builder, local and international private investors have also participated. The resources will be used to boost business growth, offer a personalized offer to users and encourage the recruitment of human talent for the project.
Gocleer also plans to launch a mobility insurance marketplace before summer to expand its offer not only to vehicles, but also to electric scooters, bicycles, electric motorcycles or other alternative means of micro-mobility. This movement is part of its strategy to develop the concept Pay how you move, with a vision focused on the integral mobility of the person and not just the car. The company began operating this January, and expects to reach 4,000 insurance policies by the end of 2021.
"Gocleer represents a before and after for the insurtech market and is a clear example of how the entrepreneurial ecosystem is prepared to lead the transformation of the productive model. For this reason, from Antai we are very proud to have been able to contribute to the development of their business and we fully trust in all its potential," comment the co-founders of Antai Venture Builder, Miguel Vicente and Gerard Olivé.
