Exactly one year ago, Glovo announced the rental of 30,000 square meters in the 22@ district to set up its new corporate headquarters. That operation, which became one of the most important in the Barcelona real estate sector in 2021, is now a reality. More than 1,700 employees of the ultra-fast delivery company, a thousand of them engineers and technology professionals, have already moved to the MILE 22@ complex, owned by Freo Group and located on Badajoz street.

Glovo's new headquarters has been named Yellow Park and hosts workers of up to 80 nationalities who are responsible for developing the technology and strategy for the 25 countries in which the company, founded by Oscar Pierre and now owned by the German group Delivery Hero, is present. According to Glovo, these new facilities are the company's main technology hub, which, globally and in different offices, already employs more than 4,000 people.

"Yellow Park has been designed to reflect an essential part of Glovo: the commitment to talent, teamwork, collaboration, and creativity. The opening of this new headquarters also highlights Glovo's clear commitment to Barcelona and the country as a whole. We will continue to invest in the city where we were born, generating impact and collaborating to promote the growth, digitalization, and innovation of the digital ecosystem," highlighted the vice president of Human Resources of the mobile application, Cristina de la Rosa.

The consultancy JLL intermediated the rental operation and has also been responsible for executing the interior design of the new offices through its specialized subsidiary Tétris. Each floor is themed after some of the cities where the company operates. The MILE 22@ building, which will be occupied in phases, has LEED Platinum Core & Shell certification, which certifies that it is an efficient and environmentally friendly building. The property has energy saving systems, renewable energy generation through solar panels, a high-efficiency air filtering system, and a 57% reduction in water consumption.

Glovo announces that during the first quarter of 2023, it will open Yellow Park to the city and make the ground floor of the building available to associations and groups in the Catalan capital so that they can hold their meetings and events.

In parallel with the inauguration of the new global corporate headquarters, the company has announced the launch of Glovo House, an internal innovation program aimed at promoting innovative business ideas that emerge from its employees and former employees."With this type of initiative, we want to continue contributing to economic development and entrepreneurial drive in the 25 countries where we are present. As a technology company, we want our experience to serve as support and contribute to energizing the innovation ecosystem. We want to give back to all these projects the trust that many people placed in us seven years ago," explains Sacha Michaud, Co-founder of Glovo.

The company points out that in Spain alone, its former employees have already founded 26 startups that, in total, have already raised more than 20 million euros. Glovo House includes advice and consulting led by a specialized team from Glovo and will also feature several experts who will impart, among other things, sessions on company creation and business model planning.
