Gentrificación

In her old childhood room, she never imagined she would hear phrases in English or French from the window. When she slept in that bed that now seems too pink to her, the neighbors were the usual ones; one knew everyone's life and miracles, even if they later preferred to talk about the weather in the elevator. But now, her parents, who still live there, don't know even half of them. Recently, moreover, the upstairs apartment is filled with tourists. She should have started to suspect what was coming when a Western Union opened across the street or when the newsstand started selling 'souvenirs'. The death blow came when someone thought it was a good idea to offer 'brunch' with views of the urban highway of Aragó. She, of course, can no longer live there. But she also doesn't know where she will end up living.
