Barcelona will premiere next weekend, June 19 and 20, a new proposal that merges the world of wine with that of modernist architecture. An experience that will allow involving all the senses and that is one of those that, in addition to having a good time, allows you to learn and expand knowledge in two such exciting and apparently differentiated fields. La Pedrera with DO is a gastronomic initiative that aims to promote knowledge of the eleven Catalan designations of origin for still wines and also the DO Cava. It is also a new way to visit Casa Milà and to be able to do a tasting in a unique architectural space.
Each weekend of June, July, September, and October will be dedicated to a designation of origin, starting with Terra Alta and ending in late October with DO Tarragona. On the one hand, Incavi and La Pedrera will offer two tastings of each DO on Saturdays and Sundays at 12 noon, in the so-called Sala Gaudí. It will be a complete tasting that will allow for an overview of the most typical wines of that area and to learn about the landscape and the main grape varieties used, among many other aspects. The price to participate in the tasting is 25 euros per person, with the option of attending three tastings for 60 euros.
La Pedrera with DO will also offer a more playful experience that will combine culture, local gastronomy, and wine on the rooftop of La Pedrera, every Saturday night. This option will allow tasting three wines from the corresponding DO while enjoying the spectacular views offered by the famous rooftop and its chimneys covered with trencadís. This option, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., costs 20 euros, with the possibility of subscribing to a cycle of four tastings for 60 euros. In both cases, the experience can be completed with a visit to Gaudí's modernist building.
The last two weekends of June will be dedicated to DO Terra Alta and Catalunya. July will be for wines from Penedès, Alella, Priorat, and Montsant, and in September (only the weekend of the 18th and 19th) the protagonist will be Conca de Barberà. Finally, the cycle will close in October with DO Empordà, Costers del Segre, Pla de Bages, Cava, and Tarragona.
