This fun theatrical proposal is full of such sharp and original black humor that it's impossible not to burst out laughing. In addition, it features the brilliant performance of two actresses, Gemma Martínez and Marta Tomasa, who make us enjoy it to the fullest.
Paz, a taxi driver from Galicia, is inside her taxi. Suddenly, she doesn't know how, she realizes that a client is in the back seat with the intention of going to Fisterra. How did she get in? At what moment? This is how this theatrical work begins, which, from the very start, makes us laugh and surprises us.
Antònia is the taxi passenger. A Catalan woman, typical of the upper class, bourgeois, but with a very natural and extroverted personality. She doesn't mince words and doesn't want to waste time. Paz, for her part, tries to deal with her as best she can, struggling between nervousness and patience. Two clashes of characters who confront each other all the time and star in truly hilarious moments.
Ferran González signs a funny and original text
The authorship of Fisterra belongs to Ferran González, who has opted for a text full of twists, surreal moments, and that rogue touch of Thelma and Louise where two women decide to embark on a road trip and let themselves be enveloped by something akin to freedom.
The text is interesting because of the clash we experience between the two protagonists who, although it seems they have nothing to do with each other, are not so far from each other deep down. And, in this road trip, camaraderie grows as the minutes pass on the road.
Brilliant interpretations and a very original staging
It is a joy to see actresses who work so well and, above all, who complement each other so well on stage. The agility of some scenes, the restraint, the momentary madness we experience... It's a non-stop of laughter and energy that we see from Gemma Martínez and Marta Tomasa.
In addition, the set design is simply brilliant: a taxi placed in the middle of the stage that has all kinds of details: the Taxi sign, occupied or free, the taximeter, the rearview mirror... This is where the whole scene takes place and where we see, and feel, how we also start and head towards Fisterra.
Having said all this, it's no wonder that Fisterra has returned to Sala Versus Glòries! It is a funny, different, and surreal comedy that will make you enjoy a very good time at the theater.
