During the last few weeks, the social media of Estopa and the streets of Barcelona and the metropolitan area had been filled with an enigmatic advertisement: a capital E wrapped in a circle. The anticipation was maximum: what did the duo from Cornellá have prepared for us?

Now we know: new album, new tour, and a return to their origins.

MKT Project: La Maketa, the new from Estopa

On November 20, the group's new album, La maketa, will be released. A name that, for Estopa fans, is surely very familiar. Jose and David already showed us a demo, the work with which they presented themselves to record labels before releasing their first album. From that primary demo came great songs like Como Camarón or La raja de tu falda, but there were also other tracks that were forgotten. Until now.

The Muñoz brothers have decided to rescue the songs that were never released and that could be heard on their 1997 demo. Within this album, we will find compositions like Bicho raro, the duo's first single that we can listen to this Friday, October 16, on all platforms.

The MKT Project: La Maketa will be a double album that pays homage to that work with which everything began. There were thirty songs that were recorded at home or in a studio and that opened the doors to the world of music for them. But, even before record labels noticed them, that demo had already circulated hand in hand. It is the first documented case of viralized music, and social media didn't even exist then!

From the thirty recorded songs came the first two albums: 12 were heard on Estopa in 1999 and another 11 were part of Destrangis in 2001. And what happened to the others? Some were recovered in later albums, but others were left in oblivion, never edited or recovered. But now with La maketa, they are given the place of honor they deserve and can be heard, sung, and danced to again with a professional and updated edition.

Estopa's new work is composed of two albums: the first one recovers the 7 never-before-released songs from the original demo and 3 "new" songs that, in reality, are not new: they are also from those times, but were never recorded. So the Muñoz brothers present a tribute to their beginnings, to those two boys who, excited, recorded their first songs without even imagining where those songs would take them.

In the second disc of the double album, we will find the original songs from 1997 that have been edited from the original master, thanks to it being accidentally found at their parents' house. Thus, those tracks that sounded a bit rusty and with poor quality have now been re-edited to be heard with a crisp and clean sound.

Estopa's new concert tour

The album is released on November 20, but fans who pre-order the album will be able to access ticket purchases for their concerts 24 hours before the official market release. Starting October 18, the pre-sale begins, and if this purchase is made, a personal code will be received. This code will arrive in buyers' emails on November 16 from 10 AM, and with this code, they will be able to enter the pre-sale of concert tickets one day before the general sale.

The La MKT tour is what the Muñoz brothers will undertake between June and July 2027 and will bring them to Barcelona on June 18, specifically at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The official ticket sale will be on November 17, 2026, at 10 PM from the official website estopa.com.

Why will the album be available for pre-order on October 18? Because this was the day Estopa released their first album, Estopa, the album that started it all. Fans dubbed this day "Estopidad Day," and that's why the new album can be pre-ordered on this day.

Bicho raro, the first single from the album

The first song we will be able to hear from Estopa's new album is Bicho raro, one of the best-known tracks from the '97 demo, which features some phrases that were later included in big hits like Vino Tinto or Tragicomedia. The song comes back to life now and can be enjoyed this Friday, October 16, along with a music video.
