The prestigious Lebanese designer Elie Saab has exclusively presented his first bridal fashion collection on the runway at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW). The show displayed the firm's haute couture proposals for spring-summer 2024, a collection of dresses inspired by Japanese gardening with brilliant and floral details.

The runway featured sixty models, who first walked in a straight line and then made diagonal passes, intertwining with each other and with the columns of the Great Hall of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. This Wednesday's show in the Catalan capital was the first that Elie Saab has done in the State. The firm is the guest of honor of this year's edition of BBFW.

Elie Saab's show was the highlight of Barcelona Bridal Night. The event also featured well-known faces such as the co-founder and creative director of Laagam, Inés Arroyo; or influencers Gigi Vives, Ariadna Tapia or Marta Sierra, among others, reports ACN.

Saab is known worldwide for regularly dressing Hollywood stars. In 1982, when he was 18, he founded his eponymous brand, and in 2002 he rose to fame when actress Halle Berry chose one of his dresses to receive the Oscar for best leading actress for her role in Monster's Ball ---it was a burgundy model with transparencies and flowers---. Since then, Saab has established himself as one of the leaders of global haute couture, with workshops in Paris, Beirut and London. Throughout his career, the Lebanese designer has dressed icons such as singer Beyoncé, model and actress Cara Delevigne or the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, among others.

More than 350 brands participate in Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week

Apart from Saab, who is the proper name of this year's edition of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, brands such as Rosa Clarà, Pronovias, Isabel Sanchis, Nicole Milano, Mireia Balaguer or Jesús Peiró, who opened the fair with a fashion show to commemorate the firm's 35th anniversary, also stand out.

The bridal fashion show runs until this Saturday and brings together more than 350 exhibiting brands ---76% international--- which expect to receive buyers from more than 90 countries to place orders for the outfits that future brides and grooms will wear next season. The Spanish bridal fashion industry is the most important in Europe and the second largest exporter in the world after China. Catalonia, with a 41% share of the total Spanish turnover, is the territory that leads bridal fashion sales abroad.
