The expansion that e-commerce is experiencing, intensified by the pandemic, translates into the need for more spaces from which to manage all orders. The Danish multinational DSV, through its subsidiary DSV Solutions Spain, has just announced that it will open a new logistics center in Molins de Rei to respond to this growth.
With an investment of 35 million euros, the new warehouse will have an area of 36,000 square meters and will be located in the Les Licorelles industrial estate, the town's old access to Collserola. Construction has already begun and the logistics platform is expected to become operational this November, with a staff of about 175 workers.
"It is a source of pride to continue growing in Catalonia," states the general director of DSV Solutions Spain, Xavier Juncosa. The Molins de Rei center joins those that DSV Solutions Spain has in Rubí, where the multinational's headquarters for all of Spain is also located; Argentona and Subirats. "Our strategy of innovation, logistics solutions and distribution reinforce Catalonia's image as a reference logistics center in Southern Europe within DSV," he adds.
However, this is not the first investment the multinational has made in Molins de Rei. In early April, another of its subsidiaries, DSV Road Spain, specialized in land transport, inaugurated a cross-dock warehouse in the same Les Licorelles industrial estate, which currently employs 40 workers. The warehouse has an area of 14,000 square meters and has 110 loading docks, with capacity to manage more than 32,000 packages every week. DSV Road Spain also has a center in Rubí.
