Delta will offer two daily flights between Barcelona and New York starting May 31 of next year. The airline has announced that it is strengthening its operations and will add an additional flight in 2024 to the existing one between the Catalan capital and the American continent, after the "success" of this season.
The company has assured that Catalonia is an "enormously popular destination for Americans and a center for tourism and commerce." Likewise, it has highlighted that New York is the "world's leading financial center and gateway to the Americas." "Expanding the links between both cities is an important catalyst for future growth in the business and leisure sectors," explained Delta's Vice President for Europe, Matteo Curcio. The route will offer 216 seats and will be operated with a Boeing 767-300. In parallel, the airline connects the Catalan capital daily with Atlanta Airport.
"Offering 14 weekly services between Barcelona and New York gives our customers even more travel options to fly to the Big Apple and other sought-after locations across the United States," adds Curcio. During the summer months, Delta will operate a total of 35 weekly flights between Spain and the United States. In addition to its daily services from Barcelona, Delta will operate flights from Madrid to Atlanta and New York-JFK.
