Deliverea prepares a two-million round to reach Italy and France

The Barcelona 'startup' offers software to optimize last-mile logistics, making it easier for retail and 'e-commerce' companies to integrate the systems used by the different carriers they work with

More and more products are being bought online, forcing companies to move their activity to the online world and having to start managing new variables, among them, contact with the carriers that send packages. Knowing that many companies work with multiple operators, which hinders delivery, Deliverea was born in Barcelona, a software designed to streamline shipments for retail and e-commerce companies.

To find the origin of Deliverea, one has to go back to when its founder and CEO, Joan Rovira, worked in an online sales company that had different channels, which involved agreeing with multiple transport operators. The problem came when it was necessary to adapt to the operations of each carrier, each one different, which required time each time a contract was signed, taking between three and six months from finding the operator to starting to deliver packages. Aware that it was a part of the value chain that could be improved, Rovira began to think with Ramon Pujol how to find a technological solution that would allow streamlining and standardizing that process.

Thus Deliverea emerged, a platform that allows packages to be sent faster, without getting lost in paperwork with the various carriers they operate with and unifying all processes in a single space. Founded in 2015, the startup spent some time developing a prototype, until in 2017 it began commercialization with its first clients. In 2020, it restructured to make its product scalable and, two years later, it has expanded to Portugal and expects to bill two million euros.

Based on "reasonable growth," as Rovira defines it, they face 2023 with a financing round that will allow them to make the leap to Italy that same year and France a year later. They aim to raise two million euros to finance the opening of these two markets, always focused on Southern Europe, where the founder and CEO points out that there is no comparable technological solution. So far, they have raised half a million euros in small rounds and have basically relied on bank financing.

With a staff of about 30 workers, the Deliverea team works from the Catalan capital for clients such as Pikolinos, Codorníu, PcComponentes, Drim or La Tienda del Apicultor, managing 5.2 million shipments in 2021. With them, they distribute products through more than 30 carriers, including Correos, Seur, FedEx, DHL, MRW, Nacex or UPS. In addition to international expansion, the company wants to provide new solutions to its clients, such as helping to make last-mile deliveries more sustainable.
