CASA SEAT will once again be filled with books and roses for Sant Jordi. The center will celebrate it from Tuesday, April 16 to Saturday, April 27 with a schedule full of activities. The illustrator and graphic designer Gemma Terol and the artist TVBoy, already a classic at the venue, will enliven the event with postcards that will be distributed at the center. In the case of TVBoy, he has reflected his vision of the litany "until death do us part" and it can already be downloaded on the website.
The must-see on April 23 will be the book signing by David Walliams (United Kingdom, 1971). In addition to being a presenter, actor, and comedian, Walliams has become one of the most influential children's writers. If you haven't read him, many will recognize his face from acting in series such as Little Britain or from being a judge on the show Britain's Got Talent.
Author of works such as Gangsta Granny, The World's Worst Teachers and Ratburger, Walliams has more than 56 million copies sold worldwide. Since The Boy in the Dress, his first published title, his books have been translated into more than 55 languages. In Spanish, they are published by the Montena publishing house, part of the Penguin group.
The British children's writer will be signing books at CASA SEAT from 5 in the afternoon until 7 in the evening. To attend Walliams' signing, you must reserve a ticket in advance.
CASA SEAT will warm up in the days prior, with a program that started this Tuesday, April 16 and will last until Saturday, April 27. The three floors open to the public of the building will display a new image inspired by the motto Barcelona, city of dragons, with which the legend of the dragon of Sant Jordi will be interpreted and in which roses and books will not be lacking.
Love letters
In addition, on Saturday the 20th, the auditorium of CASA SEAT will be the stage for the show Without letters there is no love, a performative reading of letters, all of them written by authors such as Virginia Woolf, Violeta Parra, Gustave Flaubert, Roberto Bolaño or Gabriele d'Annunzio. With this piece created and performed by Marc Caellas and Esteban Feune de Colombi, from the company La Soledad, the creators seek to celebrate literature and love in the days prior to Sant Jordi through the interpretation of romantic letters. To attend, you must reserve a ticket.
Who hasn't written and received romantic letters? Who hasn't waited for a letter with vain expectations, thousands of assumptions, and a pinch of anguish? These are some of the questions the authors of this performance want to answer, without forgetting that, while waiting for a missive, one cannot know what is happening on the other side, so anything is possible. In the time it takes for the reply to arrive, the sender reviews each possibility, real or fabricated, one by one... Of course, while insecurity gnaws at them.
