arcelona will become next week the center of reactivation and the new economy thanks to BNEW. It is not a fair nor a congress and it does not want to be a forum for reflection but for action. The international event, which will unfold like a big television program, will be followed between October 6 and 9 by more than 8,000 professionals from Europe, Africa and America, according to data advanced by the organization. 90% will follow the content online through a platform created specifically for the event and that will allow all registered people to interact with each other, which represents a powerful source of networking.

The event, in reality, is the sum of five interconnected events that will be held in parallel: BNEW Logistics, BNEW Real Estate, BNEW Ecommerce, BNEW Digital Industry and BNEW Economic Zones. In total, 160 hours of content will be broadcast via streaming and thanks to a sophisticated technological platform, which can be followed from anywhere in the world. 358 top-level speakers will pass through the five thematic axes, providing a global vision of the current situation and how to face the coming months.

The Consorci de la Zona Franca, chaired by Pere Navarro, has invested two million euros to develop and launch BNEW, although private initiative also participates in this budget thanks to the involvement of 36 sponsoring companies. In addition to the Consorci, the public institutions involved are the Government of Spain, the Generalitat and the Barcelona City Council. It is estimated that this initiative has led to the creation of 140 direct jobs and another 550 indirectly. 30% of the participants will be foreigners.

BNEW will contribute to global economic recovery
Navarro is convinced that BNEW "will contribute to global economic recovery" in five key sectors and to positioning Barcelona as the world capital of the new economy. "In times of such uncertainty as the current one, it is more important than ever to work together so that economic recovery occurs as soon as possible and to ensure that we are well prepared to face it," says the president of the Consorci de la Zona Franca, who emphasizes the innovative, televised and spectacular format that the event will have.

"The important international presence fills us with pride and confirms that the economic world was waiting for an event like this in the current context," says the general director of the Consorci, Blanca Sorigué, who assures that BNEW was born in times of pandemic but with a vocation for permanence.

Sets in emblematic spaces

The five sets that will host each of BNEW's thematic axes are located in three emblematic spaces for the city: Casa Seat, Estació de França and Movistar Centre, in Plaça Catalunya. Among the more than 8,000 participants, there are professionals from 91 countries: 38 European, 22 American, 14 African, 14 Asian and three from Oceania. In terms of registered participants, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico and Peru stand out.

In parallel, BNEW has organized 32 cultural and gastronomic activities and also has the BVillage, with the participation of 128 companies.
