Doctor Engineer in Telecommunications, Professor of Computer Architecture at UPC and director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center – National Supercomputing Center. He has more than 700 articles on the architecture of high-performance computers published and has received numerous prestigious national and international awards such as Eckert-Mauchly (2007), Seymour Cray (2015), Charles Babbage (2017), Harry H. Goode (2009), two national research awards (the "Julio Rey Pastor" in Computer Science and Mathematics and the "Leonardo Torres Quevedo" in Engineering), the King Jaime I Research Award from the Generalitat Valenciana and a Creu de Sant Jordi (2016), from the Generalitat de Catalunya. He is a member of five academic entities and Doctor Honoris Causa by nine universities.
