Josep Piqué (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1955) holds a doctorate in Economic and Business Sciences, and a degree in Law. He was a deputy, spokesperson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and of Science and Technology in various Governments of Spain between 1996 and 2003. His political career continued as a senator and president of the Popular Party and of the Parliamentary Group of the same party in Catalonia until 2007. Between 2007 and 2013 he was president of Vueling and until 2016 CEO and vice president of the construction company OHL. He is currently president of ITP Aero. His professional life has been marked by a vocational interest in international relations and an intense public and private experience in the analysis, design and application of foreign policy and industrial management. He is the author of Change of era. A world in motion: from North to South and from West to East (Deusto, 2013) and co-author of Listen, Catalonia. Listen, Spain: Four voices in favor of understanding and against secession(Península, 2017).
