Josep Piqué (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1955) is a doctor in Economic and Business Sciences, and a Law degree. He was deputy, spokesman, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Science and Technology in various governments of Spain between 1996 and 2003. His political role continued as senator and president of the Popular Party and the Parliamentary Group of the same party in Catalonia until 2007. Between 2007 and 2013 he was president of Vueling and until 2016 CEO and vice president of construction company OHL. He is currently president of ITP Aero. His professional life has been marked by a vocational interest in international relations and an intense public and private experience in the analysis, design and application of foreign policy and industrial management. He is the author of Cambio de era. Un mundo en movimiento: de Norte a Sur y de Oeste a Este (Deusto, 2013) and co author of Escucha, Cataluña. Escucha, España: Cuatro voces a favor del entendimiento y contra la secesión (Península, 2017).
