Josep Mateu is the current president of Sport Cultura Barcelona, a position he has held since July 2023 and for which he was re-elected in 2025. In parallel, he leads the RACC, an entity of which he has been president since 2015, after having held the vice-presidency (2012-2015) and various senior management positions since 1978.
His career stands out for his academic background and experience in the strategic management of organizations. He holds a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and an MBA from IESE. He has also expanded his specialization at prestigious international centers such as the London Business School, ISDI, and Columbia Business School.
In recognition of his management career, in 2001 he was awarded the "Manager of the Year" prize by the Spanish Association of Managers (AED).
