Jordi Català

At this moment, I work as a visual communicator and journalist specializing in wines, sparkling wines, mixology, gastronomy, spirits, and cigars; but I am also an infographic designer, medieval historian, designer, almost an architect, and creator of the well-known-unknown TOI (TOI the TOI), perhaps one of the first emoticons.
I have done a lot of infographic journalism: inEl Periódico de Cataluñaas Chief Editor, where I set up the first infographic department of a newspaper on the peninsula; also as an infographer for the Gran Teatre del Liceu; four times a juror for the European Newspaper Award; organization of the SND Congress in Barcelona; with more than two hundred national and international infographic awards; and protagonist of seven exhibitions.
I have co-written a few books, and two projects already underway. Recently I had the good fortune to create the infographics for a wonderful wine book by Meritxell Falgueras, awarded as "Best Educational Wine Book in the World, 2021". One of the most appreciated activities in my life is formal teaching, master's degrees and postgraduate courses, at the universities of UAB, UVic, PF, HERRAMIENTA, IL3 (UB), and Elisava, and courses at the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya. I have done and continue to do visual reports for companies and for media outlets such asEl País, El Món,All Barcelona, Turisme de Barcelona,CerodosbéandTrends.Today
