At a time when literature seems to be measured by reading minutes and immediacy, the new publishing house Argestes is committed to slowing down, reflecting, and feeling. The imprint, founded by Xavier Serrahima, champions authorial literature in Catalan with its own, ambitious, and profound voice, with the aim of providing space for demanding writing that requires careful reading. The imprint's goal is to publish between five and six new titles annually and build a small but select catalog, focused on Catalan authors, with the exception of very specific translations. For now, Argestes has already reached the city's bookstores with two initial works: the re-edition of Ventada de morts, a contemporary classic by Josep Albanell, and El llegat d'Atzara, an unpublished short novel by Vicenç Villatoro.
