Double recognition for Aigües de Barcelona's commitment to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), targets set by the United Nations for 2030 to ensure sustainable development. The go!ODS awards, organized by the UN Global Compact Spain and the Rafael del Pino Foundation, have recognized the innovative nature of the Regreen project, which promotes the use of regenerated water in urban environments, and the social initiative Punt TIC of the Digitalitza't program of L'H6.0, in favor of digital literacy in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.

In a ceremony held in Madrid, the CEO of Aigües de Barcelona, Felipe Campos, closely linked to the associative fabric of L'Hospitalet, collected the two awards highlighting "the importance of being recognized for our contribution to the 2030 Agenda". As Campos remarked, it is "a commitment that is part of the company's environmental and social strategy and that helps us continue working to achieve our purpose: to make cities a better place to live."

To learn a little more about the projects, it is important to know that the Regreen project was born from a collaboration between Aigües de Barcelona and Cetaqua. The go!ODS awards have applauded its contribution to the creation of models of sustainable cities and communities, a goal especially related to SDG 11.

Regreen has been promoted to encourage new uses of a renewable water resource with great potential, regenerated water. The project promoted by Aigües de Barcelona and Cetaqua aims to allocate this alternative resource to hydroponic agriculture in urban environments, characterized by dispensing with soil to replace it with a water solution enriched with nutrients. Given that it needs few resources, it is believed that it can be a more sustainable option compared to traditional agriculture. For now, the project has been present in different municipalities of the Barcelona metropolitan area to raise awareness about the potential of regenerated water and the benefits it provides.

Secondly, the Punt TIC digital literacy project of the L'H6.0 Digitalitza't program works from the La Florida neighborhood of L'Hospitalet. In the awards presented by the UN Global Compact Spain and the Rafael del Pino Foundation, it has been applauded for its work to achieve SDG 4, aimed at quality education and improving people's lives.

This social initiative is part of the L'H6.0 Digitalitza't program, a strategy promoted to advance the digital and technological transformation of the city, with a focus on citizens in vulnerable situations. This project to combat the digital divide in the La Florida neighborhood has the support of Aigües de Barcelona, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council and the Fundació Sargim. According to its promoters, this alliance has served to reinforce, consolidate and expand the Punt TIC, a space that promotes digital literacy and free access to new technologies. It is equipped with computer equipment, as well as personalized support and advice. In the last year, it has served more than 8,400 people through the technical team, made up of young people from the neighborhood.
