The American company XPO Logistics continues its expansion in Catalonia with a new warehouse in Castellbisbal, at a time when e-commerce continues to grow and companies are strengthening their logistics facilities to meet demand. "With this new platform, we will be able to manage higher levels of activity and sustainably support the growth of our clients," explains the General Director of Transport for Southern Europe and Morocco, Massimo Marsili.

The Castellbisbal center will be the second that the pallet multinational locates in this town and the tenth it has in Catalonia. Specifically, it joins those it owns in Les Franqueses, Sant Cugat, Girona, Fogars de la Selva, Valls and Vinaròs ---the latter is located in the Valencian Community but the company counts it within its network in Catalonia---. All of them total 123,000 square meters and employ more than 730 employees who serve 1,900 clients.

The company has located the new platform on a plot of more than 37,000 square meters, owned by Montepino. With a staff of 120 workers, it will serve companies in the textile, distribution, automotive, cosmetics, industrial, and chemical sectors. Likewise, four XPO megatrucks, with a length of 25.25 meters, will depart daily to cover the Barcelona-Madrid and Barcelona-Valencia routes.

The warehouse, of 13,000 square meters, has 104 docks and has the capacity to manage more than 3,400 pallets per day, a figure that represents 16% of the total managed by XPO in the Iberian Peninsula. It thus becomes one of XPO's most important transport centers in Spain and the multinational's largest cross-dock distribution center on the peninsula.

At the state level, the transport and logistics provider has a total of 60 centers. With this network spread throughout Spain, XPO manages the transport of more than five million pallets moved per year.
