Hipra begins to sign the first supply agreements for the covid-19 vaccine it has developed in its laboratories in Amer (Girona). Although it has not yet completed clinical trials, the Catalan family business has already signed a first cooperation agreement with the Government of Vietnam for the supply of 50 million doses that will serve to face the pandemic.

According to Hipra, the supply will become effective once local clinical studies have been carried out and the corresponding authorizations have been obtained from the Vietnamese authorities. "With this cooperation agreement, Vietnam will be able to offer its population a solution against the pandemic and will be able to increase its vaccination rate," explains Hipra, whose priority is to make its vaccine accessible and deliver it worldwide to end the pandemic.

The group owned by the Nogareda family recalls that its vaccine offers the advantage of being stored between 2 and 8°, which facilitates its distribution and logistics. "Vietnam has seen in Hipra a reliable company due to its rigor in meeting agreed deadlines and its capacity to guarantee supply," indicates the company, which is already in talks with other countries to promote its vaccine.

Last August, Hipra began the clinical study with humans with 30 volunteers from the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Josep Trueta de Girona. If all the necessary procedures to validate its solution against the coronavirus are overcome, the company plans to produce between 600 and 900 million doses in 2022.
