Sanromà thus closes a long period of more than 50 years of experience in the financial sector. Before taking the reins of the ICF, the banker had worked at Deutsche Bank and at the consulting firm Artisan Partners. During this last decade, Sanromà has led the transformation process and the digitalization of the entity with the aim of it becoming a public bank with a banking license and endorsed by European institutions.

Josep-Ramon Sanromà retires this February.

Now, the new person in charge of continuing this process will be Víctor Guardiola, a professional who has developed most of his career at CaixaBank. The executive was the entity's delegate in Murcia and Alicante between 2008 and 2012 and held this same responsibility in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area in 2013, the year in which he was appointed for a brief period as director of the Institutions area in Catalonia. At the end of 2014, he left the bank and until now has worked as a volunteer consultant for SMEs and start-ups at Secot, a non-profit association where all types of retired or active professionals make their knowledge and experience in certain sectors available to companies.

"Guardiola is a professional with extensive experience in the financial sector and in supporting entrepreneurship, he has the capacity to continue promoting the ICF at a key moment to consolidate it as a public bank of Catalonia and for the reconstruction of the economy," highlighted Albert Castellanos, general secretary of the Department of the Vice-presidency and of Economy and Finance.
