VB Devices, a biomedical startup specialized in solutions for vascular medicine, has closed a financing round of 1.06 million euros, through the crowdfunding platform Capital Cell. The financing obtained will allow them to begin the commercialization of their products in Europe and prepare their leap to the United States.
The emerging company is about to launch its leading product, Varixio, which has the potential to become the standard for the treatment of varicose veins through sclerotherapy, avoiding surgical interventions. VB Devices also plans to start commercializing two other solutions to make cardiovascular intervention procedures safer.
The company was created in 2016 by vascular surgeon Enric Roche and biomedical entrepreneur Federico Grego, current medical director and general director, respectively. Both promoted it with the will to revolutionize the health sector from experience and innovation.
The two founders met in 2015 and decided to start the project at the end of 2016. From that moment, the process of obtaining health certifications began and the commercialization of the products materialized in February 2021. Since its foundation, the company has received 1.2 million euros in investment, contributed by private investors and the founders themselves.
