The jury of the Sport Cultura Barcelona Awards has determined that the winners of the XVIII edition are trial rider Toni Bou in the Sport category, filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona in the Culture category, and former basketball player Pau Gasol in the Trajectory category. The main objective of these awards is to promote the values of sport and culture in society.
This year, the jury has also decided to grant a special mention to journalist Iñaki Gabilondo. In this case, it is a recognition of a person or entity for their historical professional dedication to sport or culture. This distinction had only been awarded on three previous occasions: in 2017 to Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, in 2019 to Josep Lluís Vilaseca, and in 2022 to Juan Carlos Unzué.
The awards ceremony for the Sport Cultura Barcelona 2023 Awards will be organized throughout this year. Some of the award winners in previous editions have been Xavi Hernández, Kilian Jornet, Rafa Nadal, Marc Márquez, Leo Messi, or Alexia Putellas in the Sport category; the Liceu, Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza, Sara Baras, Joan Roca, Jaume Plensa, or Rosalia in the Culture category, and Vicente del Bosque, Tricicle, Dr. Valentí Fuster, or Josep Carreras, in the Trajectory category.
