Airning, MedVisit and Sapenta are the three Catalan companies that have managed to enter a shortlist of 100 international startups that will opt to receive an investment of about 120,000 dollars.

The event, the Elevator Pitch Competition, is organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. The corporation (HKSTP, from its acronym Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks) is an organization created in 2001 and focused on promoting the development of Hong Kong by building a technological ecosystem that connects stakeholders, facilitates collaboration and brings social and economic benefits to the entire region.

The deadline for startups that wanted to participate in the program was September 14. From this moment on, the steps have been:

In the list of 100 finalists published on September 21 there are: 60 Asian startups, 17 European, 15 American and 8 from Oceania. In Europe, we highlight the presence of three Catalan startups, as well as three from the United Kingdom, three from Germany, two from France, two from Ireland and one from Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and Belgium, respectively.

The competition takes place in the International Commerce Centre, the most emblematic, impressive and tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong (484 meters).

AIRNING, MEDVISIT AND SAPENTA HAVE ONE MINUTE TO OPT FOR THE FINAL

Presentations begin on October 26 at 2 in the afternoon. The selected startups will have 60 seconds to convince the jury. The format will be that of the elevator pitch, which places the need to arouse the interest of your interlocutor (usually investors) in the time it takes for an elevator ride. In this case, it is literally about going up 100 floors in 60 seconds, with the jury waiting to listen.

Then, 10 finalists will have a second round of 3 full minutes to present their project in a more traditional setting. The winners will be announced at eight in the evening.

Beyond the obvious economic value of the prize, the award implies a magnificent opportunity to strengthen the international position of the projects, give them visibility and validate their business model in an exceptional scenario with great repercussions.
