Barcelona will once again have an ice rink at Christmas, after losing the one in Plaza Catalunya, promoted by the Barcelona Comerç Foundation and which was operational some time ago, between 2010 and 2014. This time, the new attraction will be located in Tibidabo, where only a similar one had been installed in 2003.
The ice rink will be located in the Plaça dels Somnis of the amusement park. The assembly will begin this Thursday, with the aim of being operational from Saturday, November 26, until Thursday, January 5, whenever the park is open. Access to the ice rink will be included in the price of the park entrance, but there will also be the possibility of using it without having to visit the rest of the park, paying a price of 5 euros. Check here the schedules and prices of the Tibidabo ice rink.
The new attraction, 200 square meters and with capacity for 40 people, is not made of ice, but uses a synthetic material that does not need water or electricity to preserve itself, and allows obtaining sensations very similar to those of skating on ice. Specifically, it is made of polyethylene panels, a new more sustainable material with non-existent energy consumption, unlike conventional ice rinks, as B:SM points out.
This will not be the only novelty for Christmas in Tibidabo, where a new pet show will also premiere with a wild boar as the protagonist, available from Saturday, November 26. The show El Bo de Collserola will take place in the Plaça del Jardí, at 4:30 p.m., on the days when the park is operational.
In addition, starting Friday, December 3, Tibidabo will host the Tibimarionetarium, a Christmas puppet show. In this case, there will be passes every hour, until Thursday, January 5, in the Marionetarium. In the Hotel Krüeger, which this season has extended its opening by seven more days, Krampus will return, a malevolent character who only shows himself at Christmas. The horror hotel will close from Monday, December 19, to Monday, December 26, and will be open from Tuesday, December 27, to Wednesday, January 4, provided the park is also open.
