The entrepreneurs and friends Jen Rubio and Stephanie Korey set out to create a product they didn't think existed: the perfect suitcase. They interviewed more than 800 people, and the result is three elegant suitcases (today they already have more models and sizes), aesthetically pleasing but resistant, with four spinner wheels, a USB charger, a TSA-approved lock, easy zippers, and even an interior bag for dirty clothes.
It is clear that livedemais is nomadic and that one of her greatest pleasures is packing her suitcase before starting a trip. Away this summer it has managed to be the most chic suitcase in the airports of Mallorca, Ibiza or Lisbon. It has been seen in Hvar, Paros, Comporta, Capri and the Hamptons. Away started as a small start-up and achieved the unexpected: selling more than 50,000 units in its first year. Entrepreneurs and friends Jen Rubio and Stephanie Korey set out to create a product they didn't think existed, the perfect suitcase. This is how Away was born, a lifestyle brand that designs objects intended to make traveling an experience from the very moment we "pack our bags."Korey and her partner, Jen Rubio, wanted to solve travelers' problems by considering how we pack clothes, what we do at the airport or upon arriving at the hotel. Being able to charge our mobile phone battery, separate dirty clothes from clean ones, or find wheels that survive cobblestones are some of the concerns of frequent flyers. The initial premise of this nascent company was simple: lower the price (by eliminating intermediaries) so that customers can buy a stylish and durable suitcase.Nor did they do it blindly, Rubio and Korey interviewed more than 800 people about what they look for in luggage, and from there they began their process of creating "the perfect suitcase." The result? Three elegant suitcases (today they already have more models and sizes), aesthetically pleasing but resistant, with four swivel wheels, a USB charger, a TSA-approved lock, easy zippers, and even an interior bag for dirty clothes. They do not aspire to be smart suitcases, they prefer to be considered "detail-oriented" suitcases that we are proud to display at the airport. And it seems to have worked because American bloggers can no longer travel without it and instagrammers fight to get the best photo of their Away during their vacations.Photograph extracted from the Away travel company website (https://www.awaytravel.com/) Its main form of sale is online, but aware that its audience also likes to get to know them, they have opened stores in NY, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and a few days ago Away landed in London.Away publishes its own magazine, Here. They are stories of personal journeys, focused on the people who are the authentic pulse of a place, define the culture, and create connections worth sharing. Their interest ranges from art, music, travel diaries, photographic essays, interviews, or a city guide. Aquí is a window into a different way of seeing the world.
