After the verticality of the Jesus tower was completed and with the Pope's visit scheduled for summer, the Sagrada Familia faces a new stage. It does so after a 2025 in which it has once again exceeded 4.8 million visitors, and at a time when negotiations with the City Council for the construction of the staircase of the Glory Facade and the relocation of affected residents are "very advanced." This was explained by the delegated president of the Sagrada Familia Construction Board, Esteve Camps: "An agreement is close."

Thus, according to Camps, negotiations are "on the right track," in a process in which the City Council assures that the priority is to guarantee the right to housing for residents affected by the staircase. Apart from this staircase, Camps insisted that the forecast is to finish the construction of the verticality of the Sagrada Familia within ten years, without taking into account the artistic decoration.

Universal interest

Visitors have once again exceeded the 4.8 million, with figures similar to those of the previous year —a 0.91% increase in 2025—. Interest was, once again, universal, with visitors from all continents. North American nationality continued to be the main one (15% of the total), followed by Chinese (7%), Italian (6.9%), French (6.9%), South Korean (4.9%) and British (4.5%). For their part, visitors of Spanish nationality represent 10%.

All of this translated into revenues of 135.5 million euros in 2025, as explained by Camps along with the general director of the basilica, Xavier Martínez, and the chief architect, Jordi Faulí. Precisely Martínez and Faulí will participate on April 13 in a new session of the Moments Estel·lars cycle, organized by The New Barcelona Post at Casa Seat.

Of these 135.5 million euros, 51% was allocated to the construction of the temple, and 31% to its management. Expenses also include annual contributions to the Diocesan Common Fund and payments agreed with the City Council. The economic stability of the Sagrada Familia has facilitated progress in construction at decisive moments: the culmination of the Jesus tower on its exterior and a large part of the section of the Provença street cloister. In addition, the Assumpta chapel has reached 8 meters in height, out of the 30 it will have in total, and work is underway on the restoration of the Matías tower.

The change in the city's skyline has also been accompanied by the change in the visual identity of the Sagrada Familia: its logo has been renewed with the finished towers, to adapt it to the constructive moment with the historical moment of the centenary of Gaudí's death.

The changes and advances have been developed in parallel with a program of social, educational and cultural activities. Among them, the open days —with 28,500 visitors—; the invitation of Jordis and Jordines from all over the world to access the basilica for free on Sant Jordi, and the launch in December of a ticket promotion aimed at the local public.

In addition, the third call for the Social Action Fund increased by 40% compared to the previous year, in a year in which 103 international masses have been celebrated in the Sagrada Familia ---which have gathered 84,214 people---, in a 2025 in which the basilica has taken a leap towards a new stage.
