The B&B Trends group, owner of the Ufesa appliance brand, has invested 22 million euros in a new industrial park in Santa Margarita de Montbui (Barcelona). The new facilities have an area of 33,000 square meters dedicated to the distribution of small household appliances and are expected to generate 100 new jobs.

This industrial group, which also operates with the brands Di4, Valory, Calma, LifeVit and Zelmer, is owned by businessmen Àngel Riudalbàs and Jorge Tornini, former executives of Taurus, who have also invested in other companies such as Indox, Precintia and Ondulados Carme and, recently, have been awarded the productive unit of Coveright Surfaces. They acquired the Ufesa brand from the BSH group ---of the Bosch multinational--- in 2018.

B&B Trends operates in more than 80 countries and has two manufacturing centers for small household appliances in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona), where it is headquartered, and in Vitoria (irons and ironing centers). It also has R&D+ centers in Poland and China.

A 7,500 square meter logistics center for the distribution of the Ufesa brand in Europe has been located in the Santa Margarita de Montbui industrial park, tripling the company's current storage and distribution capacity. According to the company, the new center is equipped with advanced management systems with radiofrequency and RFID technology. The facilities also include the expansion of the R&D+i laboratory, the creation of a centralized customer service and a recycling center for electrical appliances and waste to promote sustainability.

In the same complex this Tuesday, a new factory of the company Ondulados Carme, owned by the same shareholders and dedicated to the manufacture of cardboard sheets for the packaging sector and the graphic industry, was also inaugurated. With this plant, the production capacity has increased from 40 to 140 million square meters.

"This project represents a decisive commitment by the group to growth, through the development of new technologies by our R&D+i centers. The new facilities are fundamental for our expansion throughout Southern Europe," said Àngel Riudalbàs during the inauguration ceremony, led by the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès.
