The gastronomy sector will celebrate this weekend the arrival of a new event, Orígenes Gastronomic Festival. The gathering has the mission of protecting and promoting the best products in the country, from the Cantabrian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, but also traditional technique and the environment in a conscious, ethical, and sustainable way.

"Orígenes is born with the purpose of leaving a legacy; it is not a project for one year. We want attendees to reflect on the need to become aware of cooking and the planet," defends the festival's co-founder, Lluís Cintas. To do so, emphasis will be placed on the importance of tradition, craftsmanship, and respect for the environment to experience gastronomy of the highest quality.

According to the organizers, it is the first gastronomic festival to be held since the beginning of the pandemic. The dates for the first edition will be Friday, June 11, and Saturday, June 12, and the chosen location, the Palauet de Teià, a historic and unique 17th-century neo-medieval reconstruction farmhouse.

A dozen chefs, producers, and entrepreneurs such as Albert Roca, Viri Fernández, Eva Vila, or Carlos Piernas will contribute to offering a unique experience at this outdoor event amidst nature. They will present 12 live-cooked tastings accompanied by a selection of eleven wines made by Quim Vila for a maximum of 350 attendees. The ticket price is 195 euros, an amount that includes the gastronomic menu and access to various parallel activities.

Thus, the festival will also organize workshops by creatives such as KM Zero Food Innovation Hub; live music by Clara Gispert or Miqui Puig; signature cocktails by Manel Vehí; audiovisual exhibitions; and debates with professionals such as Josep Roca or archaeologist Eudald Carbonell.

This project is promoted by Cintas, also founder and CEO of BoBô Barcelona; the editorial advisor of La Vanguardia Dossier, Ana Godó, and the owner of Suárez Asesoría de Eventos Globales, Emilio Suárez.
