Three Catalan restaurants -El Celler de Can Roca (2), from Girona, Disfrutar (18) and Tickets (32), from Barcelona- and four Basque restaurants -Mugaritz (9), from Errentería; Asador Extebarri (10), from Atxondo; Arzak (31), from San Sebastián, and Azurmendi (43), from Larrabetzu- appear in the ranking of the best restaurants in the world of the prestigious list "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" this year 2018.
The ranking of the best restaurants in the world is headed by Osteria Francescana from Modena (Italy), and the second place is occupied by El Celler de Can Roca, the Girona restaurant of the brothers Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca.
The creativity of the prestigious chef Andoni Luis Aduriz has placed Mugaritz in ninth place on the list, just one above Asador Extebarri by Víctor Arguinzoniz, located in the Atxondo valley.
In position 18 appears the restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona, which was born from the hands of Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, who trained professionally at El Bulli.
In 31st place in this ranking appears the restaurant Arzak, in San Sebastián, run by chef Juan Mari Arzak and his daughter Elena.
The next place on the list, 32nd, is for Albert Adrià's restaurant located in Barcelona's Paral.lel, Tickets. And the sixth Spanish restaurant included among the top 50 in the world is another Basque establishment, Azurmendi, by chef Eneko Atxa.
