The psychological terror of Jordan Peele returns. After taking away even the hiccups with Get Out and Us, the American director presents Nope!, a film in which he reimagines the typical summer movie, obviously, adding a new nightmare to it. This time, the affected are the residents of an isolated California town who see how a UFO disrupts their lives and everything around them. Come on, what is known as a bad miracle.
The cast of Nope! is armed with a recurring actor in Peele's films, Daniel Kaluuya. His role as the scammed boyfriend in Get Out earned him an Oscar nomination, but he lost it to Gary Oldman's Winston Churchill. The one who did win the golden statuette was Peele, taking it for best original screenplay and paving the way for his peculiar way of making people have a bad time in the movie theater.
Knowing that it will be one of this summer's box office hits, along with Brad Pitt and Bad Bunny's Bullet Train, Peele's latest film premieres this Thursday at the Verdi cinemas, in the 8:15 p.m. showing. It can also be seen in other cinemas in the city, such as Aribau Multicines or Yelmo Cines Icaria. Starting Friday, the Gràcia cinemas will program Nope! in all afternoon showings.
