The Barcelona-based startup Weecover has just closed a 2.3 million financing round that will allow it to extend its integrated insurance model beyond Spain, with an eye on European markets. The round was led by venture capital firm Nauta Capital and included the participation of other funds such as Atorya VC. The resources will also serve to hire more staff, which will double in the next three months, going from the current seven employees to 14.

For the founder and CEO of Weecover, Jordi Pagés, with extensive experience at Zurich as director of distribution in Spain and Europe, this capital injection will mark a turning point in the company's trajectory. "It will allow us to increase our presence in European markets while strengthening our structure by incorporating new talent," he explains.

Likewise, the other founder of the startup, Rafael Gallardo, emphasizes that the new investment will also allow for the constant technological renewal of their proposal. Created about three years ago, the insurtech allows the incorporation of a personalized insurance purchase into the acquisition process of any product, whether in person or virtually.

Pagés and Gallardo have managed to add partners such as Zurich, Catalana Occidente, Allianz, Mapfre, AXA, Asegrup, and Helvetia, thus providing a varied offer of insurance that adapts to the needs of the companies and end customers they work with. In this regard, they have closed agreements with companies such as Fnac, PC Componentes, Seat Mó, Bip&Drive, Payflow, and Ray Motors, which integrate Weecover's policies when selling their products.
