The word health, for a very young child, is abstract. He knows how to take care of his dog or his bird, but not his health. That's why he needs strategies and games that turn this adult concept into something tangible and, why not, fun. In this news from the ALMA Social Social Network, they explain how they help children, daily, to incorporate the concept of health into their universe from the Santa María del Camino School in Madrid through the SÍ! Program of the SHE Foundation, a school intervention project created by Dr. Valentín Fuster and supported by "la Caixa" Social Project: precisely, this project seeks to educate children in healthy habits, so that they reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and improve their quality of life in adulthood.

Walking through the facilities of this Madrid school is a whole lesson in health, values and good habits. On the walls of the classrooms and corridors hang posters, made by students of the center of all ages, in which we can learn what types of food make our heart happy and which are a bomb for it, how the cardiovascular or digestive system work, and also why physical exercise is important, understanding our body or understanding our emotions to learn to manage them.

In addition, the center's garden is full of fruit trees and they even have a vegetable garden, which the children themselves work. As part of the program, they also learn recipes, understand the importance of rest, hygiene to prevent diseases, limiting screen time or emotional balance.
