The Grill is the new restaurant in New York that everyone is talking about, and those who haven't yet secured a table persist in trying to book through Opentable or email (the only possibilities), which already shows that new winds are blowing. Here you come to enjoy, everything is spectacularly delicious... and expensive (only credit card).
The place is the same that for years housed the city's most chic restaurant, The Four Seasons in the famous Seagram Building by architect Ludwing Mies van der Rohe. In fact, when it, which some considered their home and part of their life, closed its doors a year ago, it marked the end of an era and for many, accepting that other times and above all other tribes were taking over Midtown. Here John F. Kennedy and writer Norman Mailer celebrated their birthdays. Here, for decades, the Obamas, Valentino, Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, and many others have eaten. In one of its rooms, the Grill Room, a meal baptized by Esquire as the power lunch was held in the 80s due to the number of powerful people who frequented it and the decisions that were made between courses.
Now chino pants and blazers in the Silicon Valley style predominate over suits and ties. New faces that have the power and know how to choose. The Grill is perfect, it's still just as glamorous, the food is good (classic American food under the command of the celebrated chef Mario Carbone), the modernist space has preserved Philip Johnson's emblematic interiors, and the waiters in Tom Ford tuxedos (of course) make you feel like protagonists of this high gastronomic comedy. It shares this coveted space with its neighbor The Pool, where chef Rich Torrisi allows you to take a dip in the original Four Seasons pool while tasting the best fish and seafood dishes.
Yes, it is definitely the place. Exciting!!!
