The Film Academy will extend its program of activities to Barcelona, until now only concentrated in Madrid. The cultural institution thus responds to the demands of its members to reach other cities beyond the capital of Madrid and chooses the Catalan city as the first destination due to the weight of its audiovisual industry and the number of academics.

It will begin through a series of previews and discussions with a strong feminine accent. It will be aimed at members of the Film Academy and the Amics de la Filmoteca de Catalunya, where the first screenings will take place. Two monthly activities are planned, still far from the different weekly activities organized at its headquarters in Madrid.

This Monday has been the first day of this new stage, with the preview of Cinco Lobitos, a film winner of the last edition of the Malaga Festival and starring actress Laia Costa. After the screening of this film about motherhood, its director and screenwriter, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, and filmmaker Isabel Coixet chatted with the attendees.

The next event will be on Monday, May 23, with the preview of Costa Brava, Líbano, a production that features Clara Roquet as co-screenwriter. The last winner of the Goya for Best New Director for Libertad will be the protagonist of the meeting after the screening of this film that has passed through festivals such as Venice, Toronto or Seville.
