The two founders of the European Blockchain Convention, Victoria Gago and Daniel Salmeron, believe that blockchain and cryptocurrencies are the future. And the data seems to prove them right. According to the Crunchbase platform, in the last 12 months, more than a thousand startups related to these innovative technologies have secured funding in investment rounds worldwide. And those that are already consolidated have raised more than four million dollars in the second quarter of 2021, almost nine times more than in the same period of 2020, as reported by the company CB Insights. There is no doubt that there is an urgent need to develop this ecosystem.

After creating an international event to disseminate these technologies, Gago and Salmeron have decided to go a step further in their entrepreneurial adventure and have founded the European Tech School in Barcelona, a 100% online school dedicated to blockchain whose objective is to train future professionals in the sector. Classes will be taught by industry professionals who work in companies such as IBM, ING, Bosch, or Renault. Students will be divided into work groups to recreate a university environment, the founders detail. Their methodology, they explain, is designed for the student to be part of a community.

European Tech School will launch on September 15 and will offer two programs to students. On the one hand, there will be the Blockchain Executive Program, which lasts five weeks and is aimed at those starting in the sector. In it, students will learn what blockchain is, how it works, and why this technology is revolutionizing the international market. On the other hand, they can also enroll in the Certified Blockchain Expert, a ten-week program, which is aimed at profiles with more knowledge in the field. The objective of this program is to provide students with a detailed understanding of the history, evolution, and application in industries and organizations.

The students who have already enrolled are professionals with work and management experience, between 30 and 50 years old. Some of them are dedicated to the financial sector, others to the business or management field, and others have a more technical profile.
