The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona is finalizing the design of what will be the third edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), an event that brings together hundreds of national and international professionals and companies to debate the challenges of the new economy.

This year's conference, which will be held between October 3 and 6, will have a new venue, also promoted and managed by the Consorci: the DFactory technology center, located in the Zona Franca. The entity headed by Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the Consorci, has chosen the DFactory as an international benchmark for industry 4.0, a space where an ecosystem has been created that contributes to transforming the productive fabric and accompanying it in its digitalization process.

If until now the organizers of BNEW had sought emblematic locations in the city of Barcelona, the Consorci's new commitment is still unique, not in vain the DFactory building is mostly built of glass, responding to technological avant-garde and committed to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 17,000 square meter property has been built following high energy performance and sustainability criteria, based on both limiting energy demand and designing efficient facilities. All 4.0 technologies are made visible in its spaces, blurring the barriers between the different companies in the ecosystem and providing shared access to laboratories, meeting rooms and common areas.

Next October, the center will host all events that, in hybrid format, will bring together the more than 600 national and international speakers who have once again shown interest in the program, and 400 participating companies and more than 12,000 attendees are expected. The most relevant current topics on the different verticals of the event ---Real Estate, digital industry, mobility, talent and experience--- will be addressed, and emphasis will also be placed on the future of investment worldwide, taking into account the current context and the risks and opportunities offered by the post-pandemic economy for both large companies and SMEs.

The event will maintain its hybrid format through a digital platform to facilitate the attendance of people from anywhere in the world, increasing its in-person capacity given the improvement of health circumstances.
