The plenary council of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), chaired by Mayor Ada Colau, has approved the 2021 budget, which foresees investments of 26.9 million euros and profits of 8.6 million that will be allocated to the economic promotion of the city. The challenge is to increase revenues by 2.3%, up to 56 million euros.
Another objective for 2021 is to expand the 3DFactory Incubator, the first European high-tech 3D incubator, launched in 2019 by Leitat and which has already hosted 42 companies. The project plans to incubate around one hundred startups until 2024. Finally, in the plenary session it was confirmed that next year will see the second edition of BNEW, the hybrid event for economic revitalization in multiple sectors, scheduled for October 5, 6, 7 and 8. "After the success of the first edition, we want to continue contributing to creating synergies and generating business opportunities at a key moment for boosting economic reactivation," explained Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB.
