The next plenary session of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, scheduled for July, is expected to greenlight the creation of a digital training center for companies, a project it promotes with Leitat as a technological partner and which will be open to private companies to contribute their experience.
The center will be located in 1,000 square meter facilities that Leitat has in Plaça Catalunya, in Barcelona, as reported by the newspaper ARA and picked up by the agency ACN. Sources from the Chamber of Commerce point to collaboration with technology companies such as Telefónica, Google, Seidor, or Microsoft, which have headquarters in Barcelona, to contribute their experience.
Regarding the training offer, the center is born with the aim of working in the field of ICT, focusing on the most innovative and disruptive solutions, to promote the digital transformation of companies and improve their competitiveness.
The existence of the training center will complement the work that the Chamber is carrying out through the HUB cambraDigital, a space located at the entity's headquarters on Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona and which is intended to inform and raise awareness about digitalization through conferences and webinars; training with MOOC programs; advice on strategy and digital accompaniment through the Digital Transformation Office from where digitalization, cybersecurity, or international digital marketing plans will be developed; and also acts as a provider of technological solutions.
The HUB cambraDigital will also rely on a virtual platform that is being developed and that will allow connecting SMEs and entrepreneurs from all over the territory without geographical limitations. In this way, the virtual user will be able to do networking with other companies, attend presentations or webinars, learn about the latest technological developments, or hold virtual meetings with entrepreneurs or businesspeople, among others.
